Integrating bio-oil and carbohydrate valorization on the fractionation of sugarcane bagasse via Organosolv process using Mo2C-based catalysts

This work studied the fractionation of sugarcane bagasse via Organosolv treatment using isopropanol/water in presence Raney-Ni and molybdenum carbide catalysts (Bulk Mo 2 C supported on activated carbon (AC) or Al O 3 ). The degree delignification, bio-oil solid residue composition depended type catalyst. A partial extraction hemicellulose occurred followed by depolymerization, resulting a product distribution that catalyst promoted formation diols triols, while xylose, furfural, furan were mainly produced based-catalysts. without bulk containing 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran.
